傑太日煙Logic電子菸加熱菸取得FDA初階減害菸品認證
美國食品藥物管理局(FDA) 已授權銷售由 傑太日煙 (JTI) 的電子菸部門 Logic Technology Development LLC 生產的兩種電子菸設備和菸草味補充菸彈。這是自英美菸草(BAT)的Vuse Solo 於 2021 年 10 月第一個取得美國FDA初階減害菸品認證 (PMTA)後，傑太日煙的Logic成為FDA第二個取得初階減害菸品認證的電子菸。
傑太日煙 此次除了電子菸，美國FDA 也同時授權 Logic Vapeleaf 加熱菸草產品 (HTP) 和無味菸草填充膠囊。 Vapeleaf 是在菲利普莫里斯國際公司的 IQOS取得減害菸品認證後，第二項獲得 FDA 減害菸品認證的 加熱菸品牌，但由於專利糾紛，該產品目前未在美國銷售。
值得注意的是，取得美國FDA減害菸品認證的 Logic 產品和 Vuse Solo 在美國電子菸市場的市佔率並不高，據高盛（Goldman Sachs）稱，分析尼爾森數據，Logic 僅有不到 1% 的市占率。最受歡迎的大眾市場電子菸產品，如 JUUL 和 Vuse Alto 換彈式電子菸，仍在接受 FDA 審查。
美國FDA局長Robert Califf ：電子菸減害，有助保護公共衛生
FDA新任局長羅伯特·卡利夫 (Robert Califf ) 在新聞聲明中說明：「作為一名心臟病專家，我親眼目睹了菸草使用對健康造成的破壞性影響，因此我非常希望 FDA 幫助減少這些產品造成的死亡和殘疾，我們知道成年吸菸者需要使用電子菸產品，以嘗試取代更有害的燃燒紙菸，但數百萬年輕人正在使用這些產品並沉迷於尼古丁，FDA的科學家在評估並嘗試取得電子菸產品這些問題的政策平衡點，他們取得了很大的進展，我知道他們將使用現有的最佳證據和最有力的方法，確保繼續銷售的產品適合保護公共衛生。」

“As a cardiologist, I’ve personally seen the devastating health effects of tobacco use, so I’m highly motivated for the FDA to help reduce death and disability caused by these products,” said FDA Commissioner Robert M. Califf, M.D. “We know that there is a demand among adult smokers to use e-cigarette products to try to switch from more harmful combusted cigarettes, but millions of youth are using these products and getting addicted to nicotine. The balance of these issues was considered by the agency’s career scientists when evaluating the potential marketing of e-cigarette products. They have made great progress and I know they will use the best available evidence with the most robust methods to ensure that products that continue to be marketed are appropriate for the protection of the public health.”

面對美國將電子菸列為減害菸品，台灣立法院卻正在研議修法禁止電子菸，身為WHO FCTC菸草減害專家的王郁揚會代表金色力量參選士林北投議員選舉，王希望透過參選，讓衛福部長陳時中聽見台灣開放電子菸的聲音、看見國際管理電子菸的科學證據，以及參考國際管理電子菸的標準，而非像政府現在一意孤行，執意幫特定財團護航紙菸，讓台灣民眾喪失選擇減害菸品的機會，進而錯失實現無煙臺灣的目標。
